2.5-inch Hard Disk Drive
The 2.5-inch hard disk drive model (Express5800/R120d-1E) has 2.5-inch Drive Bays are provided at the
front of the server.
A Hard Disk Drive mounted in a dedicated drive carrier can be purchased. Install the Hard Disk Drive on the
server with it mounted in the drive carrier.
Important
Use Hard Disk Drives specified by NEC. Installing a third-party Hard Disk
Drive might cause a failure of the server and the Hard Disk Drive.
Note the following precautions to install hard disk drives.
 Hard disk drives having different capacities, interface types, or rotational speeds cannot be installed
together.
 In the specific RAID System, hard disk drives and solid state drives cannot be installed together.
 To build a RAID system, you may need to set jumper switch or change cable connection.
Bays can contain up to 8 hard disk drives (when 2.5-inch HDD cage is installed).
A unique port number is pre-assigned to each slot.
