2.5-inch Hard Disk Drive

Hard disk drive bays are provided at the front or rear of the server as follows:

• 16x 2.5-inch drive model: Front

• 26x 2.5-inch drive model: Front and rear (when rear HDD cage kit added)

• 3.5-inch drive model: Front and rear (2x 2.5-inch disk drive ports when rear HDD cage kit added)

A hard disk drive mounted in a dedicated drive carrier can be purchased. Install the hard disk drive on the

server with it mounted in the drive carrier.

Important

Use hard disk drives specified by NEC. Installing a third-party hard disk

drive might cause a failure of the server and it.

Note the following precautions to install hard disk drives.

• Hard disk drives having different capacities, interface types, or rotational speeds cannot be installed

together.

• In the specific RAID System, hard disk drives and solid state drives cannot be installed together.

A unique port number is pre-assigned to each slot.
