4. Names and Functions of Parts

Connect the power cord to supply power. If the power

Flashing (amber)
Check if the internal fan cable is properly connected. If
the LED indica
tion does not change when the fans are
normal, contact your maintenance service company.
A fan alarm was detected.
Check the internal fan for dusts. Also check if the fan
unit is properly connected.
If the LED indication does not change when the fans
are normal, contact your maintenance service
company.
A temperature warning was detected.
A voltage warning was detected
Contact your maintenance service company.
One or more Hard Disk Drives are broken.
An error is detected with Node Manager Contact your maintenance service company.

LINK/ACT LED ( 1, 2)
The LED lights green when it is connecting to LAN and flashes when transmitting or receiving data on LAN.
The number next to the icon indicates a network port number.

Disk access LED ( )
The DISK access LED indicates the status of the Hard Disk Drive installed in the Hard Disk Drive bay.
The LED lights green every time the Hard Disk Drive is being accessed.
Lighting amber indicates that the Hard Disk Drive is broken. The status of the broken Hard Disk Drive can be
checked with the DISK LED provided for each Hard Disk Drive.

Optical disk access LED
The access LED for optical disk drive at the front of the server flashes when a CD or DVD is being accessed.
4.7.6
UID LED (ID)
The UID LED is provided one each at the front and rear of the server. If you press the UID switch provided at
the front or rear of the server, the light turns on. If you press it again, the light turns off. It flashes when
commands from software are received. This LED is used to identify the target server among multiple servers
installed in a rack. Especially when performing maintenance from behind the server, lighting the LED will
help you to identify which server to work with.
Tips
You can turn on an LED using remote management software.
