Chapter 2 Preparations

*1 Lane: Indicates the transfer performance (transfer bandwidth).
<e.g.> For PCI Express
1 lane = 2.5 Gbps (unidirectional), 4 lanes = 10 Gbps (unidirectional)
For PCI Express 2.0
1 lane = 5 Gbps (unidirectional), 4 lanes = 20 Gbps (unidirectional)
Socket: Indicates the connector size. A card up to the number of sockets can be connected.
<e.g.> x4socket = x1card, x4card can be installed. x8 card cannot be installed.
* Maximum card depth can be inserted.
LowProfile: Up to 200 mm
* For details of functions of each card, refer to the technical guide.
* The card performance described in the parentheses after the Product name indicates the maximum operation
performance of the card.
* When the operation performance of a PCI card is higher than the PCI slot on the server, the PCI card operates
with the performance of the PCI slot on the server.

Installation
Install a riser card to a PCI card in the following procedure.
Important
When installing a PCI card, make sure the connector of the card fits the
connector of the riser card.
Note
Check the card type (low profile or full-height type) which respective riser card
supports and the type of PCI card to be installed.
1. Refer to Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.
2. Refer to Chapter 2 (1.6 Removing the Top Cover) to remove the top cover.
3. Remove the screw securing the rise
card. Hold the both ends of the riser
card and lift it off.
Note
Be careful not to contact with other parts.
4. Confirm the installation position with the reference to the table on the previous pages.
