♦Replacing a managed server
To replace a managed server without changing its server name or its IP address, execute Ch eck Connection
on the [C onnection Setting] view of N EC ESMPRO Manager after replacing it.
If you do not, a new server is not recognized and the server status or the configuration information is not cor
rectly displayed.
♦Auto Registration
Even if man aged servers that are re gistered only to the Operation Window are out of the se arch range fo
r Auto Re gistration, they are listed in th e Auto R egistration list and registered to th e NEC ESMPR O Mana
ger as m anaged servers.
If any server that is not sup ported, such as NEC ESMPRO Agent Ver.4.1 or prior, is in cluded in the sear
ch range for Auto Registration, the server is not registered to NEC ESMPRO Manager. However, it is regi
stered to the Operation Window.
After you register a CPU blade managed via only SNMP to create the chassis information, to register ano
ther CPU blade on the same chassis with the management controller enabled, delete the previously regist
ered CPU blade managed via SNMP and register it again.
Do not perform other operations or move to another window during Auto Registration or Check Connectio
n.
If a serv er for which Check Connection is not performed is included in the search range for Auto Registra
tion, be s ure to execute Check Connection for it befor e Auto Registration.
After auto-discovery is fi nished from W eb browser, the server ico n is also put on the Operation Window.
Change the icon location manually if you feel the location is not appropriate.
♦Changing Status Polling Interval
The default va lue for S NMP status polling interval is 1 minute.
To change it, change the value set in [Server Status Polling Interval (min)] on the server icon displayed on th
e Operation Window.
♦Recovery from system error
If a s ystem error occurs, fol low the instruction displayed on the window.
If no instructio n is dis played, restart the br owser.
♦If communication with a monitored server becomes disabled
If communication with a mo nitored server becomes dis abled due to server down or network problem during di
splay of the status of t he server, the server icon of the group or chassis shows unknown status. In thi s case,
the st atus color of the c onfiguration information tree item may not indicate the latest status. Click the s erver i
con from the group or ch assis to display the latest i nformation.
