Installing the N8117-01A extra RS-232C connector kit

Install a PCI card to connect to the PCI slot by using the following procedure. For details, refer to the

instruction manual supplied with the connector kit.

Important The N8117-01A extra RS-232C connector kit contains two types of cables. This

server uses the RS-232C cable (B).

Tips

N8117-01A extra RS-232C connector kit is only supported by air-cooled models. It cannot

be installed in liquid cooling model.

This product uses a combination of items <3> and <4>.

Follow the procedure below to install the kit.

1. Refer to Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.

2. Remove the side cover while referring to Chapter 2 (1.4 Removing the Side Cover).

3. Assemble <3> RS-232C cable (B) and <4> PCI bracket (1).

4. Open the PCI slot retention latch while referring to Chapter 2 (1.10.3 Installation).
