Chapter 1 Maintenance
The following instructions show how to clear the CMOS memory and the password.
WARNING
Be sure to observe the following precautions to use the server safety. Failure to
observe the precautions may cause death or serious injury. For details, refer to
Safety precautions in Precautions for Use in "Users Guide".
Do not disassemble, repair, or alter the server.
Do not remove the lithium, NiMH, or Li-ion batteries.
Disconnect the power plug before installing or removing the server.
CAUTION
Be sure to observe the following precautions to use the server safely. Failure to
observe the precautions may cause burns, injury, and property damage. For
details, refer to Safety precautions in Precautions for Use.
Make sure to complete installation.
Be careful not to pinch your fingers in the server components.
Avoid installing under extreme temperature conditions.
Important
Take anti-static measures before operating the server. For detailed
information on static electricity, refer to Chapter 2 (1.2 Anti-static Measures)
in "User's Guide".
Clearing CMOS memory
1. Refer to "Getting Started" provided with this server or Chapter 2 (1. Installing Internal Optional Devices)
in "Users Guide" to remove the side cover.
2. Confirm the position of the CMOS clearing jumper switch.
3. Change jumper switch settings from Protection (1-2)to Clear (2-3).”
Note
Use the clip provided with the jumper pin of the server.
Do not lose the clip.
4. Wait about 5 seconds and return the jumper switch settings from Clear (2-3)to Protection (1-2).”
5. Reattach the side cover.
6. Reassemble the removed components, connect the power cable, and press the POWER switch.
7. Press the <F2> key to start the BIOS Setup utility.
