Microsoft Windows 2000
This subsection provides information on installing Microsoft® Windows® 2000 on your server.
Read the instructions in this section before performing the installation.
NOTE: To install Windows 2000 without using Express Setup, see
Appendix C.
Installation Notice
This section explains precautions and provides information you should be aware of before
beginning the installation of Windows 2000.
Supported OS on this model
The server supports the following Windows 2000 versions:

Microsoft Windows 2000 Server version (hereinafter referred to as "Windows 2000.")

Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server version (hereinafter referred to as "Windows
2000.")
To install Windows NT 4.0, see the next subsection in this chapter. To install other operating
systems, contact your service representative.
BIOS Specification
Before installing Windows 2000, confirm that the BIOS setup of the hardware is correct. In
BIOS Setup, there are specific settings required for new functionality provided from Windows
2000 (Plug and Play, support for USB interface and so on). See Chapter 3 for information on
making changes to the BIOS settings.
