4. Select the working channel and press ENTER to SEND the call.
Note: Duplex channels cannot usually be called and are automatically eliminated from
the suggested call list.
The Tx icon is displayed on the screen while the call is being sent.

CALLING...
1. Press CALL/MENU to show the DSC CALL menu.
2. The cursor is at LAST CALL Move the cursor to ALL SHIPS and press ENTER.
3. There are 2 priority levels available:
URGENCY: when a serious situation or problem has occurred and could lead to a
distress situation.
SAFETY: to send safety information to all other boats in range.
4. Move the cursor to the priority level that is appropriate to your present situation
then press ENTER.
5. Select the working channel and press Enter. Duplex channels which are not usually
called are automatically eliminated from the suggested call list.
6. The radio asks for conrmation of the ALL SHIPS call. Press ENTER to select YES and
send the ALL SHIPS call.
7. The Tx icon is displayed on the screen while the call is being sent.
8. If the call is acknowledged press PTT to speak.
5-7 Reply to a call in your Call Log (CALL LOG)
Your call log contains the contact details of the 20 most recent incoming calls - so you can
use the call log to reply to any of these quickly. When the call log is full, the oldest entry is
overwritten. Therefore, to select the priority level:

►SENT?
1. Press call/menu to show the DSC CALL menu.
2. The cursor is at last call.
3. The contact details of the most recent incoming call are shown.
4. (Optional) If you want to save this log entry in your BUDDY LIST, move the cursor
to MMSI then press ENTER and enter a buddy name. The MMSI is automatically
displayed.
5. The cursor is at CALL BACK. Press ENTER.
6. Select the working channel and press ENTER.
Note: Duplex channels cannot usually be called and are automatically eliminated
from the suggested call list. If the call is to a Coast Station, the channel is selected
automatically.
7. The call details are shown. Pushes ENTER to send the call. The Tx icon is shown on
the screen while the call is being sent.
8. If the call is acknowledged, press PTT to talk.
9. If there is no reply (UNABLE TO ACKNOWLEDGE), a message asks if you want to retry
(SEND AGAIN?).
10. Select YES, then press ENTER to retry the call.
This cycle repeats twice. If the call still cannot be placed, the radio returns to normal
operation.
