SURFACE PREPARATION:
Clean the NativeStone Sink or Vanity Top with warm water and mild non-abrasive soap or cleaner to remove dust, oils and other
substances and allow to dry to the touch. Lightly scuff the areas to be sealed with a fine grade abrasive pad to create a textured
surface for the sealer to adhere to. It’s not necessary to press too hard; a light abrasion is all you need. After scuffing, carefully wipe
down the NativeStone Sink or Vanity Top with a clean damp cloth and allow to dry. The concrete must be dry to the touch and
free of surface moisture before sealing. Air and concrete temperatures should be between 65 – 85 degrees F (18 – 29 degrees C).
SEALING PREPARATION/APPLICATION:
Note:
• Tape off or otherwise protect cabinetry, floors and surfaces adjacent to the NativeStone Sink or Vanity Top before sealing.
• Fully mixed NativeStone Shield has 45-minute useful pot life before disposal.
1. Shake container of NativeStone Shield Part A for 1 minute prior to use.
2. Pour contents of NativeStone Shield Part A container into 4 oz container of Part B.
3. Reseal Part B container tightly and shake vigorously for 5 minutes.
4. Wait 15 minutes to allow Part A and B to fully blend prior to use.
5. Add 1 tablespoon of water to Part A and B mixture.
6. Reseal container and shake again for 1 minute. From this point forward, the fully mixed sealer has a 45 minute pot life.
7. Pour entire amount of NativeStone Shield into Paint Tray.
8. Using one of the 4” x ¼” Short Nap Roller, apply Shield first to the NativeStone Sink inner bottom surface using a push/pull motion
(away from you and towards you). NativeStone Shield dries quickly once applied, so it is best to work quickly. Lightly back roll over
buildup edges to ensure a smooth application surface and the overlaps are wet to wet. Do not apply too much pressure to the
surface. The weight of the roller itself is all that is needed. Use the second dry 4” x ¼” Short Nap Roller to smooth out any drips or
visually heavy application areas.
9. Then apply NativeStone Shield to the inner walls. When applying to a vertical surface, make sure to hold the roller with the open side
pointing down - this will prevent excess sealer from dripping down off of the roller. Use the dry roller to smooth out any drips or
visually heavy application areas. Sealer applied to vertical surfaces may sag and run after a minute or two, use the dry roller with a
blotting motion to smooth the areas in corners and along inner walls so the sealer does not pool.
10. Follow the above directions for application and dry rolling to seal the NativeStone Sink top edge and exterior surfaces or the
Vanity Top face and side edge surfaces.
11. When correctly applied, NativeStone Shield will have a hazy, even sheen and will remain tacky for up to 12 hours after application.
Protect the sealed areas from dust and debris while drying. Allow 7 days to fully cure at ambient room temperature.
Do not use until fully cured.
