12.3.2 Channel and Crossfader Quick Reference
Control element Function
GAIN encoder Turn: adjusts input gain level for that channel.
Push: resets input gain level to 0 dB.
FX Assign buttons 1 and 2 Normal: assigns the channel to FX Unit 1 and 2, respectively.
(For use with four FX Units, see detailed description.)
SHIFT: assigns the channel to the left and right side of the crossfader,
respectively. The Crossfader Assignment indicator lights up accordingly.
High-frequency knob (HI) Adjusts the high-frequency content of the signal.
Mid-frequency knob (MID) Adjusts the mid-frequency content of the signal.
Low-frequency knob (LOW) Adjusts the low-frequency content of the signal.
FILTER knob Adjusts the on-board bipolar filter.
Headphone Cue button (CUE) Sends the pre-fader signal to the cue channel (headphones).
Deck Assignment indicator (A/B/C/
D)
Lights up when corresponding software Deck is currently under focus on
the S4.
Channel fader Controls the channel’s level.
Channel meter Gives a visual feedback on the channel’s pre-fader level.
Blue: signal below clipping.
Orange: signal clipping.
Crossfader Assignment indicator Left arrow lit: channel assigned to the left side of the crossfader.
Right arrow lit: channel assigned to the right side of the crossfader.
Crossfader Controls the mix between signals assigned to its both sides.
