Control element Function
DECK C or DECK D indicator Lit when your S4 Deck is focused on the lower Deck (Deck C or Deck D).
KEYLOCK indicator Lit when Keylock is active.
MASTER indicator Lit when the Deck is the tempo master.
Loop Size Display Shows the loop size selected via the Loop SIZE encoder.
TEMPO fader Increases/decreases Deck tempo.
Hold SHIFT to move the fader without altering the tempo.
Tempo Offset buttons up/down
(OFFSET)
Lit button indicates offset between tempo fader in the software and TEMPO
fader on the S4. Pressing either button resets the tempo to the TEMPO fad-
er position.
Press both buttons simultaneously to lock the tempo to 0 % (the TEMPO
fader is then disabled). Both buttons light up to indicate the tempo locking.
Press either button to unlock the tempo.
Both buttons light up dimmed when the TEMPO fader is near 0 %.
LOOP IN button Sets a Floating Cue Point at current playback position without stopping the
playback. This Floating Cue Point will serve as Loop In Point when you press
the LOOP OUT button (see below).
Lights up together with LOOP OUT when playback is within an active Loop.
In Loop: Hold to adjust Loop In Point with jog wheel.
LOOP OUT button Sets a Loop Out Point at current playback position and activates a Floating
Loop between the previously set Floating Cue Point and this Loop Out Point.
Looping active: Lights up together with LOOP IN when playback is within
the active Loop, lights up alone when playback is outside the active Loop.
In Loop: Hold to adjust Loop Out Point with jog wheel.
Loop MOVE encoder Push: activates/deactivates looping.
Loop active: Loop move controls. Turn to move the Loop by the selected
loop size (as displayed in the Loop Size Display). SHIFT + turn to move the
Loop by 1-beat steps.
No Loop active: Beatjump controls. Turn to jump by the selected loop size
(as displayed in the Loop Size Display). SHIFT + Turn to jump by 1-beat
steps.
