Overview of the I/O and Level section.
(1) TAP button: Use the TAP button to tap each beat of your song. The BPM (beats per minute)
will be automatically computed to determine the tempo. Alternatively, hold the TAP button and
turn the jog wheel to adjust tempo.
(2) STEP MODE button: As a complement to Control mode, Step mode doubles as a full-featured
step sequencer. In this mode, each pad represents one step of the selected Step Grid resolu-
tion. During playback, a running light shows the current position of the step sequencer. Press-
ing the pads creates notes on the corresponding steps (causing them to light up) or it removes
them. For more information on Step mode please see chapter ↑7, Creating Beats with the Step
Sequencer.
(3) MACRO button: Macro Controls enable you to control in one same location a selection of
parameters from different sources. Available in every channel (Sounds, Groups, and Master),
Macro Controls are very useful for playing live since you can choose a set of parameters from
various sources to manipulate on one screen without having to switch screens. For detailed in-
formation on Macro Controls please see the Manual
