You can repeatedly apply QUANTIZE 50% until you are happy; you could for example apply it
until the notes are close enough to the Step Grid to sound tight, but loose enough to main-
tain their basic “feel.” If it is too quantized for you, just press SHIFT + pad 1 to undo the
last change.
7.4.8 Doubling a Pattern
Your controller provides a useful shortcut to double the length and content of the current Pat-
tern. In the software, you can do this for example by copying all events, putting the Playhead
indicator at the end of the Pattern, and pasting the events (the Pattern Length is automatically
doubled).
7.4.8.1 Doubling a Pattern on the MASCHINE MIKRO Controller
To double the length and content of a Pattern:
1. Hold PATTERN to enter Pattern mode.
2. Select the desired Pattern by pressing its pad.
3. Press F1 (DBL).
The Pattern is doubled.
Keep in mind that doubling a Pattern twice results in a Pattern that is four times as long.
7.5 Recording and Editing Modulation
One of the really cool features of MASCHINE is the ability to modulate nearly all MASCHINE
parameters both on the controller and in the software in a very easy way.
In MASCHINE, modulation means the automatic change of MASCHINE parameters from an in-
ternal source (e.g., manual changes recorded via Auto-write…). Value changes are:
Temporary: The modified value is valid only until the end of the Clip: When the Scene is
looped or when playback is restarted, the parameter value is reset to its non-modulated
value.
