4.7.2 Gate Override Sub-Mode
The Gate Override sub-mode lets you temporarily override the Trigger Type of all Sample Cells
so that they behave as if they are all set to Gate Trigger mode, where you must hold down a
pad for a Sample to play. This does not change the stored property of the Sample Cells se-
lecting this mode does not change all the Sample Slots to Gate mode.
To enter Gate Override sub-mode, press and release the TYPE (PITCH) button and turn
the encoder knob until you see "go" on the Display.
Note that while in Gate Override sub-mode you cannot scroll the pages of the Remix
Deck's Sample Grid because the encoder knob is being used for choosing the various
Type sub-modes.
When you enter or exit the Gate Override sub-mode, Samples which had already been playing
before entering the sub-mode will not change their play states. For example, if you have a loop-
ed (and latched) Sample playing when you activate Gate Override sub-mode, that Sample will
continue to play unless you hit its pad, which would change it to Gate Override sub-mode. In
this case (hitting the pad while in Gate Override sub-mode), the Sample will only play as long
as you hold the pad.
