Upon compleng the gas line connecon, a small amount of air will be in the lines. When rst lighng the
burner, it will take a few seconds for the lines to purge themselves of this air.
Once the purging is complete, the burner will light and operate as indicated in the instrucon manual.
Subsequent lighng of the appliance will not require such purging unless the gas supply has been
disconnected.
1.Locatethemanualgascontrolvalve.
2.Holdalitlongmatchorlongbutanelighterneartheburnerportsontopoftheburner.Fora
NaturalGasunit,turnontheON/OFFvalveslowlyattheunit.ForaLPunit,turnthevalveintheLP
tankcounterclockwiseallthewayandthenturnontheON/OFFvalveslowlyattheunit.
3. Iftheburnerdoesnotlightwithin10seconds,turnthevalveoandwait5minutesforanygas
todissipatebeforerepeangtheprocedure.
4.Toshutdowntheburnerturntheburnercontrolknobclockwisetotheoposion.Thenturn
thegasoatthesource(propanecylindervalveornaturalgassupplyvalve).
Note: The propane regulator in this appliance is equipped with a low ow protecon device. Unless
the propane cylinder valve is opened before the appliance valve, the gas ow will be reduced resulng
in a very small ame. To reset this device, shut o the appliance valve, then the propane cylinder valve.
Next, diconnect the regulator adaptor from the tank and then reconnect. Follow the lighng procedure
ensuring the propane cylinder valve is opened before the unit is.
