EN Next, mount the CPU cooler - for bulky coolers, the attachment of the EPS extension after installation can be difficult. Place the motherboard carefully into the case and thread while the EPS extension through the opening provided at the top of motherboard tray. Then screw the motherboard to the motherboard standoffs. After installing the power supply, you can connect the EPS extension at the back of the motherboard tray with the EPS connector of the power supply. 2.
Open the two quick release locks of the 5.25 inch bay and remove the mounting frame. Then attach the card reader in the frame, as shown below. Then place the frame with the card reader back into the slot and lock the quick release. Finally, attach the included 3.5 inch adapter to the front cover over the card reader. 3. Installation options of HDD’s In the Deep Silence 3 you can mount up to five 3.5 inch hard drives (decoupled), as well as three 2.5 inch HDD / SSD in three HDD cages.
EN 3.2 Conversion and removal of the HDD-cage In order to enable the installation of extra-long VGA cards, the middle HDD cage of the Deep Silence 3 is modular. If you want to remove the hard drive cage to install a very long graphics card, please remove both side panels first. In order to remove the cage, you have to simultaneously pull the lever at the back facing up and press the tab on the front down.; pull the cage gently outwards.
4.1 Fans in the case front To switch the fans in the front or to clean the dust filters, please remove the front panel by holding the cutout at the bottom and pull it towards you with a firm tug. Next, remove the four screws with which the dust filter is connected to the front and take it out. Please be advised that the fans are screwed to the dust filter. The front dust filter allows the installation of either 2 x 120 mm or 1 x 140 mm fans. Two 120 mm Deep Silence fans (1.300 rpm) are preinstalled. 4.
EN Additional case fans in the side panel and on the bottom of the Deep Silence 3 should be mounted so that cooler air is introduced into the case (fan rear side facing inwards). 5. The 2-channel fan controller The Deep Silence 3 is equipped with a 2-channel fan control for up to six case fans. You can operate up to three fans per channel. 5.1 Connecting the fans to the fan control The fan controller is powered by a 4-pin Molex connector that is connected directly to the power supply.
6. The I/O-Panel The I/O panel includes connectors for external USB devices (1 x USB 2.0, 2 x USB 3.0), and the microphone and headphone ports. The blue USB connectors are super-Speed USB 3.0, the USB 2.0 port is black. The left audio connector (when viewed from the front) is for headphones, the right is intended for a microphone. The hard drive activity is indicated by flickering of the green illuminated power button.
