GPS tracking quality (8)
Analogue to the icon on the GPS information display (see page 24) the map display also gives
information on the GPS signal. They can show three identical values:
Red satellite antenna: There is GPS signal reception, but the signal is too weak or the
number of satellites are too few for position tracking. GPS navigation is not possible.
Black antenna with one wave: GPS tracking OK and navigation possible. When only one
wave is displayed, only 2D tracking is possible (no GPS height indication) and positioning
errors may be significant. However, the system allows navigation.
Black antenna with two waves: Optimum GPS tracking in 3D. The system allows full
navigation.
Battery status (9)
The navigation device also displays the PNA battery status. You can estimate the remaining
battery from the length of the displayed line. Below there are some examples:
Flashing in the battery indicates that the battery is being recharged.
The battery is fully charged.
The battery is not fully charged but there is enough energy remaining.
Whenever the battery interior lights red, the battery must be recharged immediately.
