EXPLANATION OF MAP DISPLAY CONTENTS
AND FEATURES
Route / Road junction Preview (1)
While in Map view, this field also functions as a button. Here it shows a button labelled "Route",
while an active route exists. Tap the button to open the Route menu (for detailed explanation,
see page 63). While in Cockpit display, this field is a graphical illustration of the next
manoeuvre. When approaching a road junction, an arrow will show whether a gentle, medium or
sharp turn has to be made. When a roundabout is displayed, the number of exits are also
shown.
Zoom buttons (2+3)
These semi-transparent buttons will only appear while the Zoom function is enabled from the
Settings menu (see page 59). When reducing/enlarging the map scale will change accordingly.
Reducing shows a larger map portion while enlarging shows a smaller map portion. The
automatic smart Zoom function will take care of zooming in and out while you are navigating
(zooms out when the next road junction is still at a certain distance, zooms in when
approaching a traffic junction in order to allow a better detailed view of the manoeuvre). If you
set the zoom manually, automatic map scaling will not take place any more (although
automatic virtual height adjustment and rotation will still occur). However, you may set the
function to zoom in or out automatically a few seconds after you have manually changed the
zoom level. To do so, go to "Advanced Settings => Smart Zoom".
Because of their importance, the Cursor menu, Route Information display and the Find,
Settings, Route and Main menus are explained in separate chapters.
