7.3.4. Cleaning the cleaning wiper
Following are instructions for cleaning the cleaning wiper.
Follow the steps below to clean the cleaning wiper.
Step 1 :
Replace an ink cassette.
Notes :
• For instructions on replacing an ink cassette, refer to "Replacing ink cassettes".
Step 2 :
If the printer is turned on, make sure of the following
¾ Printing or other operations are not performed.
¾ Make sure that the display on the operation panel shows the normal status.
¾ The MEDIA SET light on the operation panel goes off.
Step 3 :
Follow "Menu setup on the operation panel" and display the cleaning wiper menu on the
operation panel.(Refer to ‘Wiper clean menu’)

Step 4 :
Select "Yes" by pressing the [F2] key on the operation panel.
¾ The printer enters the cleaning wiper mode.
¾ The carriage moves to the waiting position for cleaning the wiper.
¾ The following message is displayed on the operation panel.
Notes :
• If you did one of the things mentioned in step 5, the printer does not clean the
cleaning wiper and returns to the setup menu.
• Press the [CANCEL] key on the operation panel.
• Select "No" and pressed the [F1] key on the operation panel.
