Safety instructions Please turn off your mobile phone in hospitals. The mobile phone could interfere with medical instruments. SIM cards are small and easy to swallow up. Do not let children play with your mobile phone and its accessories. Don‘t short-circuit the battery. It can be damaged and can result in overheating. Do not expose the battery to high temperatures or fire.
Do not put batteries in your regular household garbage. You may recycle used batteries can in many retail or service provider locations. Contact your local recycling center or national recycling organizations for more information on how to dispose of batteries. Do not attempt to repair your mobile phone by yourself. Mobile phones can interfere with TV, radio, personal computers and other electric equipment In an aircraft, turn off your mobile device whenever instructed to do so by airline staff.

Basic operation Prepare for use Inserting the SIM card Remove the back cover. Slide the SIM card into the SIM card holder. Make sure the golden contacts face down and check the location of the rounded edge. Now, insert the battery. Make sure the contact plates of phone and battery are properly aligned. Reattach the back cover. Charging the battery Make sure the battery is inserted properly. Connect the charger cable to the phone and then connect the charger to a wall outlet.
If your device is new, you should wait until the battery is fully discharged before charging it again. You should make 3 complete recharge cycles. This will make sure your battery works with its maximum capacity. When the battery is fully discharged, it may happen that the screen remains off after connecting the charger. This is normal. After several minutes the animated battery symbol will appear on the screen. Warning: Never remove the battery while charging.
FM Radio Your phone can receive analog FM radio signals. You can use the built-in speaker or connect the included earphones. When reception is poor, please connect the earphones. They will be used as external antenna and will boost your reception FM radio button speed dial keys Press and hold the FM radio button on the left side until the phone switches into FM radio mode. Manual channel selection Use the up and down navigation keys to change frequency. Mute Press the red key to mute your phone.
4. Settings: The option „Background playback“ allows you to switch back to phone mode without stopping FM mode playback. The option „Loud speaker“ turns the internal speaker on, when earphones are connected. Use this option when reception is poor. Exit FM radio mode Press and hold the FM radio button on the left side until the phone switches back to phone mode.
Making calls Open the phone book, select a contact and press the green button twice to call the selected number. You can also use the speed dial function or enter a number manually: 1. At the home screen, enter the number using the keypad. To change the entered number, press the red key. To delete the whole number, press and hold the red button. The phone will return to the home screen. 2. Press the green button to call the entered number. 3. Press the red button to end a call.
2. 3. 4. 5. 6. When you have stored your SOS numbers, the phone will send a text message to all of your emergency contacts when the SOS key is pressed. Then the phone will start to call all SOS numbers consecutively. If call will not be answered the phone calls the next SOS number. The phone will repeat this procedure three times, then it switches back to the home screen. If no SOS number is stored, a notice will be shown on the display. When the SOS function is used, a notification sound will be played.
Text messages When receiving a new text message, a notification will be displayed on the screen. Press the green button to read the test message. Sending text messages To send text messages, open the main menu and select “SMS”. Now select “write message” and enter your text. When finished, press the green button to open the options menu and select a sending option. Enter the number of the recipient or select a number from the phone book. Confirm to send the text message.
Outbox The “outbox” folder contains all sent and saved text messages. The navigation is similar to the inbox folder. Drafts This folder contains all messages that have been saved, but not sent, yet. Voicemail server You may edit the number of your voice mail. Usually, this number is programmed to your SIM card by your mobile phone provider and there is no need to change this number. SOS SMS content You can edit the SOS text message here. Also read section “Making calls -> Making emergency calls”.
SMS settings Profile settings “Profile 1“ contains the text message settings, which your mobile phone provider has programmed to your SIM card. You may also add your own message settings to a free slot. Usually, there is no need for any changes or additional profiles. Wrong settings may prevent the SOS function from working properly! Memory status The memory status menu will show you both, used memory and free memory of your phone and your SIM card.
Call history Call history lists all your outgoing, incoming and missed calls. In addition, call time is saved, too. For each logged call, there are several available options: 1. “Call” 2. “Delete”: Deletes this entry from call history only. This does not affect your phone book. 3. “Save to phone book”: Allows you to add a name and saves the contact information to your phone book. 4. “Edit”: Allows you to change the number before saving to the phone book. 5.
Phone book Search contact This option lists all your phone book entries in alphabetic order. Use the upper and lower navigation key to scroll through your contacts. Add new contact When you add a new contact, you have to choose a memory location first. Select either SIM card or phone and press “OK”. Now enter name and number using the keypad and select “done” to save and exit. Delete contact Deletes a single phone book entry form the SIM card or the phone memory.
SOS number Check section “Making calls -> Making emergency calls”. Phonebook settings Memory status The memory status menu will show you both, used memory and free memory of your phone and your SIM card. Preferred storage Select if contacts should be stored in the phone memory or on your SIM card. This is just a preset setting. When saving a new contact, you can select where to save the contact information.
User profiles Your M50+ comes preinstalled with 5 different profiles: General, Meeting, Outdoor, Indoor and Headset To activate a profile, select the profile and press the green button twice. I you want to change a profile select the profile and press the green button once. Now select the option “customize” to change the profile. Preferred input method: Here you can change the mode, how to enter text. In “multitap” mode, you have to press each button several times to type a letter. PIN Your PIN code prevents your SIM card from unauthorized access. Your SIM card is protected, as long as PIN protection is enabled. When enabled, your mobile phone asks for your PIN code when it is turned on. If you disable PIN protection, you don’t have to enter your PIN code anymore. Select the “change” option to change your PIN code. The phone will ask for your current PIN. Enter your PIN code and confirm with the green button. Now the phone asks you to enter the new PIN twice.
Restore factory defaults This option sets your phone back to the factory default settings. All data stored in the phone memory will be erased. Data stored on your SIM card won’t be affected. Alarm You can define 5 independent alarm timers. Calculator A simple calculator for basic arithmetic operations. Use the keypad to enter the numbers. Use the upper and lower navigation key to select the arithmetic operation. Use the green button to confirm.
