Lifetime of the
capacitors
The lifetime of the capacitors is
temperature-dependent!
End of lifetime is reached when the
buffering time has fallen to 70% of
the rated buffering time.

Connection
Before installation the data of the DC supply have to be compared with the data on the type plate
and checked for compliance. Connection according to the indications of the terminals (see
simplified diagram and configuration)
In case of overload the DC output current is composed of the max. current of the
buffering module and the current from the supplying DC mains. In order to avoid
overloading of the DC output circuit external protection is required! (For values please
refer to “Technical data”)

closed.
Set-up
The unit is switched-on by connecting the DC supply to the terminal 'U '. LED 'Uin OK' lights
up.
Input
If the units are used in installations that require overloads for testing (e.g. acc. to
EN60204-1 / VDE0113 Part 1 19.4 Voltage test) the unit has to be separated from the
test set-up before voltage is applied.
(Original text EN60204-1 Components that are not designed for this test voltage have
to be disconnected during the test.)
Check if the connections are correct before first start-up. Establish electrical
connections only when the installation is disconnected from the supply.
When operating the connected power supply > 24 V lifetime will decrease.
Operation
After the U is switched on the capacitor is charged. The LED 'U OK' lights up. The capacitor
will only be charged if U is approx. 0.5 V - 1.0 V bigger than U in buffer mode. Charging is
indicated by a slowly flashing LED ' U >'. If the capacitor is almost charged the LED ' U >'
will light permanently. By disconnecting the supply respectively by dropping below the minimum
