Teflon Tape 1-2-3 Wrapping Technique
The biggest reason for leaks via the conduit into electrical devices is often improper wrapping
of the Teflon tape on the threads. Here’s a simple 1-2-3 technique that might help.
Caution: Your hands and the fitting should be clean of any debris or dirt.
1. Hold the Teflon tape roll in your left hand and the
fitting in your right.
2. Place the tape on top of the threads, one thread back
from the starting thread, holding it down with your
thumb. Roll the fitting in a clockwise direction,
stretching the tape slightly as you wrap, overlapping
each turn to cover completely.
