2.20 Setting of Node Addresses.

The number of node addresses available is 1 to 247. Each

individual M550 that is to be connected to a common bus,

must have its own unique node address.

Note : All M550 instruments are set by the factory to the

default node number 1 but all respond to a query using

address 254. This allows any M550 to communicate on any

existing Modbus network. Once the unit has communicated

successfully the node number required can be set as follows.
