Replacingtheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive
Beforeyoustart,printtheseinstructions.
Attention:Theharddiskdriveorsolid-statedriveisverysensitive.Incorrecthandlingcancausedamage
andpermanentlossofdata.Observethefollowingguidelines:
•Replacetheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedriveonlyifyouupgradeitorhaveitrepaired.Theconnectors
andslotoftheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrivearenotdesignedforfrequentchangesorreplacement.
•Donotdroptheharddiskorsolid-statedriveorsubjectittophysicalshocks.Puttheharddiskdriveor
solid-statedriveonamaterial,suchassoftcloth,thatabsorbsanyphysicalshocks.
•Donotapplypressuretothecoveroftheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive.
•Donottouchtheconnector.
•Beforeremovingtheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive,makeabackupcopyofalltheinformation
onit,andthenturnoffthecomputer.
•Neverremovetheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrivewhilethecomputerisoperating,insleepmode,
orinhibernationmode.
Toreplacetheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive,dothefollowing:
1.Disablethebuilt-inbattery.See“Disablingthebuilt-inbattery”onpage67.
2.Closethecomputerdisplay,andturnthecomputerover.
3.Removetheexternalbatterypack.See“Replacingtheexternalbatterypack”onpage68.
4.Removethebasecoverassembly.See“Replacingthebasecoverassembly”onpage71.
