UsingtheminiDisplayPortconnector
YourcomputerhasaminiDisplayPortconnector,whichisadigitaldisplayinterfaceforconnectionto
variousexternaldevices,suchasCathodeRayTube(CRT)monitors,LCDmonitors,projectors,oreven
high-denitiontelevisions.Thiscompactconnectorenablesaplug-and-playsetupandsupportsadapters
thatcanplugintoDVI,VGA,orHigh-DenitionMultimediaInterface(HDMI)connectors.
TheminiDisplayPortconnectorofyourcomputersupportsaudioaswellasvideostreaming.
Settingupapresentation
Todisplayinformationandmakepresentations,youcanconnectadataprojectortoyourcomputerthrough
theVGAconnectoronyourcomputer.
Note:Itmaytakeseveralsecondsbeforetheprojectordisplaystheimage.Ifyoudonotseeyourdesktop
displayedafter60seconds,trypressingF7toswitchbetweendifferentdisplayoutputlocations.
Yourprojectormighthaveoneormoreaudio-inputconnectors.Toprojectsound,youneedtoattach
thecomboaudioconnectoronyourcomputertotheseconnectors,usinganaudiocable(commercially
available).
Usingdualdisplays
ThissectionintroducestheDuplicateandExtenddesktopfunctionsthatenableyoutodisplayoutputon
boththecomputerdisplayandanexternalmonitor.
UsingtheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction
WiththeDuplicatedesktopfunction,youcandisplaythesameoutputonboththecomputerdisplayand
anexternaldisplay.YoualsocandisplaydifferentdesktopimagesoneachmonitorwiththeExtend
desktopfunction.
YoucanusetheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunctionwithoutchanginganysettings.Ifthefunctiondoes
notwork,refertothefollowingtopiconhowtoenabletheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction.
EnablingtheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction
ToenabletheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction,dothefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortoyourcomputer.Thenconnectthemonitortoanelectricaloutlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitor.
3.PressF7,thenselectDuplicateorExtend.
Tochangetheresolutionforeachmonitor,dothefollowing:
1.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
2.ClicktheMonitor-1icon,whichisfortheprimarydisplay(thecomputerdisplaybydefault).
3.Settheresolutionfortheprimarydisplay.
4.ClicktheMonitor-2icon,whichisforthesecondarydisplay(theexternaldisplaybydefault).
5.Settheresolutionforthesecondarydisplay.
6.ClickAdvancedsettingsandsetupthecolorqualityontheMonitortab.
7.ClickOKtoapplythechanges.
ConsiderationsforusingtheExtenddesktopfunction
•InExtenddesktopmode,onlytheprimarydisplayshowsDOSfull-screenandtheotherdisplayis
blackedout.
