UsingaDVImonitor
Ifyourcomputerhasoneofthefollowingoptionaldockingstations,youcanuseaDigitalVisualInterface
(DVI)monitorthroughtheDVIconnectorofthatunit:
•ThinkPadProDock
•ThinkPadUltraDock
Notes:
•ThescreenmodethatcanbeuseddependsonthespecicationsoftheDVImonitor.
•BeforeyouconnectaDVImonitor,makesurethatthecomputerisconnectedtotheexpansionunitand
worksproperly.
ToconnectaDVImonitor,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputer.
2.ConnectaDVImonitortotheDVIconnectoroftheexpansionunit,andthenconnectthemonitor
toanelectricaloutlet.
3.TurnontheDVImonitorandthecomputer.
IfthecomputeroutputdoesnotappearontheDVImonitor,dothefollowing:
•ForWindows7:
1.PressCtrl+Alt+F12.TheIntelGraphicsandMediaControlPanelwindowopens.
2.SelectAdvancedModeandclickOK.
3.SelectMultipleDisplays.
4.IntheOperatingModeeld,selectoneofthefollowingoptionsdependingonyourneedsandfollow
theinstructionsonthescreentocompleteothercongurations.
–SingleDisplay:Dependingonyourconguration,thecomputeroutputisdisplayedeitheronthe
computerdisplayortheDVImonitor.
–CloneDisplays:Thesamecomputeroutputisdisplayedonboththecomputerdisplayand
theDVImonitor.
–ExtendedDesktop:Differentcomputeroutputisdisplayedonthecomputerdisplayandthe
DVImonitor.
•ForWindows8:
1.Movethecursortothetop-rightorbottom-rightcornerofthescreenandclicktheDevicescharm.
2.ClickSecondscreenandselectDuplicate,Extend,orSecondScreenOnly.
ConsiderationsforconnectingaDVImonitor
ConnectaDVImonitortotheexpansionunit,andturnonthemonitorbeforeyouturnonthecomputer.
Otherwisethesystemcannotrecognizethatthemonitorisconnected.IftheoptionforenablingtheDVI
monitorintheDisplayPropertieswindowisnotdisplayed,tryclosingthewindowandopeningitagain.Ifthe
optionstillisnotdisplayed,makesurethattheconnectorofthemonitorisattachedrmly,andrepeatthe
procedureforconnectingthemonitor.
