UsingtheNFCconnection
NFCisahigh-frequencyandshort-rangewirelesscommunicationstechnology.Dependingonthe
model,yourcomputercomeswithanNFCcard.ByusingtheNFCfeature,youcanestablishtheradio
communicationsbetweenyourcomputerandanotherNFC-enableddeviceoveradistancenomorethana
fewcentimeters.
BeforeyouusetheNFCfeature,ensurethattheNFCfeatureisenabled.ToenabletheNFCfeatureon
theWindows8operatingsystem,dothefollowing:
1.FromtheStartscreen,clickLenovoSettings➙MobileHotspot.
2.IntheEnableNFCarea,slidetotherighttoenabletheNFCfeature.
YoucanusetheNFCfeaturewithNFCsupportedprograms,suchasLenovoQuickDisplayprogram,the
LenovoQuickControlprogram,ortheLenovoQuickCastprogram.

Youcanconnectyourcomputertoaprojectortogivepresentationsoryoucanconnectyourcomputer
toanexternalmonitortoexpandyourworkspace.
Changingdisplaysettings
Youcanchangethedisplaysettings,suchasthedisplayresolution,fontsize,andsoon.
Tochangethedisplaysettings,dothefollowing:
1.OpenControlPanelandclickAppearanceandPersonalization.
2.ClickDisplayforfurtherconguration.
3.ClickApply.Thechangewilltakeeffectafteryoulogoff.

Note:Whenyouconnectanexternalmonitor,avideointerfacecablewithaferritecoreisrequired.
Yourcomputercansupportamaximumvideoresolutionofupto1920x1200(withanexternalmonitor
connectedtotheVGAconnector)orupto2560x1600(withanexternalmonitorconnectedtothemini
DisplayPortconnector),providedthattheexternalmonitoralsosupportsthatresolution.Formore
informationabouttheexternalmonitor,refertothemanualsprovidedwiththeexternalmonitor.
Youcansetanyresolutionforeitherthecomputerdisplayortheexternalmonitor.Whenyouusebothatthe
sametime,theresolutionofbothisthesame.Ifyousetahigherresolutionforthecomputerdisplay,you
canseeonlypartofthescreenatatime.YoucanseeotherpartsbymovingtheimagewiththeTrackPoint
pointingdeviceoranotherpointingdevice.
