NorthAmerica,youcandisableCallWaitingbyprecedingthetelephonenum
berwith*70(checkwith
yourlocaltelephonecompany).
● YoucanautomaticallydisableCallWaitingbyincludingthedisablingcodeinthemodem’sdialprefix(e.g.,
ATDT*70,—notethecomma,whichinsertsapausebeforethenumberisdialed).Tochangethedial
prefixinWindows98HyperTerminal,selectCallfromtheCa
llmenu,clickDialingProperties,checkThis
locationhasCallWaiting,andselectthecorrectcodeforyourphoneservice.
● Ifyouhaveextensionphonesonthesamelineasyourmodem,youorsomeoneelsecaninterruptthe
connectionbypickingupanotherphone.Ifthisisaf
requentproblem,disconnecttheextensionphones
beforeusingthemodem,orinstallanotherphonelineespeciallyforthemodem.
