Installing TCP/IP (Win95/98)
If TCP/IP is not already installed, perform the following steps:
Note: For this procedure you may need your Windows installation disks or CD ROM.
1 In the Network dialog, click Add. The Select Network Component Type dialog is displayed
with a list of installation options.
2 Select Protocol and click Add. The Select Network Protocol dialog is displayed with
protocol options.
3 In the Manufacturers list click on the manufacturer option (Microsoft in the example) to
highlight it. A list of available protocols will appear in the Network Protocols list.
4 In the Network Protocols list, select TCP/IP and click OK.
5 Exit the add option. Click on the OK button.
Note: If Windows does not find the necessary files on the hard drive, click Have Disk and
follow the on-screen instructions for loading TCP/IP from the installation disks/CD-ROM.
6 Reboot your PC for changes to take effect.
7 Click Start | Settings | Control Panel and double-click on the Network icon to return to the
Network dialog. Return to step 3 of the Configuring in Windows 95/98 and continue with
the client setup procedure.
