Features Introduction Welcome to one of Multi-Tech's family of ProxyServers. The information provided in this Installation Manual enables you to unpack, install, and configure your ProxyServer. A list of specifications is included, and you are referred to the ProxyServer User Guide for step-by-step procedures for setting up your LAN clients for surfing the Internet. ProxyServer The ProxyServer acts as a central dial-out Internet access point for all your network clients.
ProxyServer Installation Manual Unpacking Your ProxyServer The shipping box contains one each of the following components: ProxyServer Power Adapter ProxyServer Installation Manual (this manual) ProxyServer Utilities CD ROM (Includes electronic version of ProxyServer User Guide) Inspect the contents for signs of any shipping damage. If damage is observed, do not power up the unit; contact Multi-Tech’s Technical Support for advice (refer to Warranty section in the ProxyServer User Guide on CD ROM).

ProxyServer Installation Manual ProxyServer Installation Note: Before starting installation, if the serial connector of your modem or ISDN TA has only 9 pins, obtain an appropriate serial adapter or short cable to connect it to the 25-pin WAN connector on your ProxyServer. 1. Attach the ProxyServer WAN port to the serial port on the back of your modem or ISDN TA. Tighten both fasteners until the ProxyServer is secure. 2. Utilities ProxyServer Utilities Your ProxyServer Utilities include the following: ProxyServer Wizard - This provides a step-by-step process that enables you to input all the basic settings needed to configure your ProxyServer for general usage. All settings you enter through the ProxyServer Wizard are displayed in their respective menus and screens in the ProxyServer Manager. ProxyServer Manager - This Main Program is used to configure all the settings of your ProxyServer.

The CD ROM media is produced using Adobe Acrobat for viewing and printing the user guide. To view or print your copy of the ProxyServer User Guide, load Adobe Acrobat Reader (also available on the CD ROM) on your system. Launch the Reader and select the Proxy file.
