9.9 AT+CLIP Calling Line Identification Presentation
Description: This command refers to the GSM supplementary service CLIP (Calling Line Identification
Presentation) that enables a called subscriber to get the calling line identity (CLI) of the calling
party when receiving a mobile terminated call.
The write command enables or disables the presentation of the CLI at the TE. It has no effect
on the execution of the supplementary service CLIP in the network.
The read command gives the status of <n>, and also triggers an interrogation of the provision
status of the CLIP service according GSM 02.81 (given in <m>). If no SIM card is available or
SIM-Pin isn’t entered, the command response is “ERROR”.

Unsolicited Result Codes:

When CLIP is enabled at the TE (and is permitted by the calling subscriber), this URC is delivered after every
"RING" or "+CRING" URC when a mobile terminated call occurs.
Parameters:
<n> This parameter can be stored with AT&W and can be displayed with AT&V.
0 Suppress unsolicited result codes. Default (This is the factory default value and can be restored
to '0' with AT&F. It is also the defaulted value if the parameter is omitted (0 will be assumed).).

<number>
string type phone number of calling address in format specified by type.
<type>
type of address octet in integer format; 145 when dialing string includes international access code character “+”,
128 when number is restricted; otherwise 129.

string type alphanumeric representation of <number> corresponding to the entry found in phonebook; used
character set is the one selected with AT+CSCS
<CLI validity>
0 CLI valid
1 CLI has been withheld by the originator.
2 CLI is not available due to interworking problems or limitations of originating network. Number
shall be an empty string (“”) and <type> value will not be significant.
When CLI is not available ( <CLI validity>=2), number shall be an empty string (“”) and <type> value will not be
significant. Nevertheless, TA shall return the recommended value 128 for <type> (TON/NPI
unknown in accordance with GSM 04.08 subclause 10.5.4.7).
When CLI has been withheld by the originator, (<CLI validity>=1) and the CLIP is provisioned with the “override
category” option (refer GSM 02.81 and GSM 03.81), number and type is provided. Otherwise, TA shall return the
same setting for number and type as if the CLI was not available.
Notes:
Usag
e of the PIN is dependent on conditions specified for the command. Not all command types are PIN
protected (for example a write command can be PIN protected while the read command is not).
Note: The table provided in Section 19.3, Available AT Commands and Dependency on SIM PIN uses the same
symbols.
This command is not supported in airplane mode.
