S-Registers
Certain configurations are stored in memory registers called,
S-Registers. The
S
command is used to assign a value to, and to
read the current value of an S-Register. To assign a value to an S-
Register, enter the letter
S
,
followed by the S-Register number and
an equals sign (
=
).
To read an S-Register value, enter the letter
S
followed by the S-Register number and a question mark (
?
), then hit
RETURN (e.g.,
ATS8?<CR>
). You should receive a response of the
assigned value given to that S-Register. Options shown in boldface
represent the factory default settings.
S0 Auto-Answer
S0 = 0 Auto-Answer Disabled
S0 = 1 Auto-Answer Enabled
S0 = 2 Auto-Answer under DTR control
S1 Number of Redials
S1 = 0 through 99 (user selectable)
S2 Sync DTE Dialing
S2 = 0 Sync DTE Dialing Disabled
S2 = 1 Dial on DTR transition from low-to-high
S2 = 2 V.25bis sync dialing enabled
S2 = 3 V.25bis or DTR
S3 Auto-Disconnect
S3 = 0 Disconnect when DTR drops
S3 = 1 Disconnect after 10 minutes of data inactivity
S3 = 2 Disconnect after 30 minutes of data inactivity
S3 = 3 Disconnect after 60 minutes of data inactivity
S3 = 4 Disconnect when DTR drops or after 0 minutes of
data inactivity
S3 = 5 Disconnect when DTR drops or after 30 minutes
of data inactivity
S3 = 6 Disconnect when DTR drops or after 60 minutes
of data inactivity
S3 = 7 Auto-Disconnect Disabled
