Installing the Solar Eclipse Client Software
Intuit Eclipse ships the Solar Eclipse Client installation program on a CD-ROM. The installation
program works for Windows 95, Windows 98, 2000, XP or Windows NT computers.
To install the Solar Eclipse client software:
1. Close all other programs.
2. Insert the install disk into the CD-ROM drive or download the executable from the
Eclipse Support web site.
3. Double-click the Solar Eclipse icon and follow the on-screen instructions.
4. Complete the Server Information window, as follows:
Field Description
Terminal ID
The ID of the terminal on which you are installing Solar Eclipse.
Note: The system uses the terminal ID in printer and OE setup, just as it
does in Eterm.
Server Name
Name of the Eclipse server. This can be an IP address or network name.
Note: This is the same information you would enter in the Host prompt on
the Eterm Communications screen.
Server Port
The port the terminal uses to connect to the Eclipse host system.
Note: You can find the port number in the entry on the Phantom Status
screen for the SOCKET.PH.SERVER program. It will nearly always be
22222.
Class Path
The network path to where the Solar classes reside. The standard class path
is \\eclipseservername\javalib, where eclipseservername is the network
name or IP address of the Eclipse server.
Note: The release engineering team puts the classes on your system. Your
installer can tell you where your classes reside.
5. Complete the on-screen instructions for the remaining windows.
Note: Accept the defaults, unless instructed otherwise by your company's IT
department.
