Hold down the Alt key and press the letter x.
The DOS Editor asks if you want to save your changes.
Press Enter to accept the default Yes to save the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
Note: Whenever making changes to a diskette, always allow the diskette drive
(A) to come to a complete halt before removing the diskette. Failure to this
can result in corrupted files.
To make copies of the NET.BAT-enabled boot diskette:
1. Use the DISKCOPY command to duplicate the NET.BAT enabled boot diskette for each
computer that will run Eterm for DOS on your network. See Copying the Eterm for DOS
Diskette.
To assign IP and Subnet addresses on the boot diskette:
1. Insert the Eterm for DOS diskette into your diskette drive.
2. If you are using a dumb terminal, skip ahead to Step 4.
3. Assuming that your diskette drive is A and your hard disk drive is C, at the DOS prompt
(C:\>) type a: and press Enter to switch to the diskette drive.
C:\> a:
4. At the A prompt, type the following command to open the NET.CFG file with the MS-
DOS Editor:
A:\> edit net.cfg
5. Using the MS-DOS Editor, locate the sample IP address and replace it with the actual IP
address of your network:
199.190.150.###
Each computer residing on your network must have a unique IP address. The last three
characters (### in the example above) are the unique address of the computer.
Note: You need to change the IP address for each computer on which you are
installing Eterm for DOS.
6. Save NET.CONFIG and exit the MS-DOS Editor, as follows:
Hold down the Alt key and press the letter x.

Press Enter to accept the default Yes to save the NET.CONFIG file.
7. Write the IP address for the computer on the Eterm for DOS diskette label.
You will use this IP address to configure a TCP/IP network connection with the Host
server. See Installing Eterm for DOS with an Ethernet Connection.
