Line Breaks Appear in Intuit Eclipse Screens
Because the Eclipse and Eclipse Bold fonts are scalable fixed width fonts, occasionally your
screen will display breaks between line drawing characters. This does not affect screen prints.
Messaging Will Be Disabled for This Session
Eterm does not support multiple messaging configurations. You can only have messaging
enabled for one Eterm session at a time. If you run more than one Eterm session at a time, only
the first session will allow messaging; subsequent sessions will have messaging disabled. This
applies whether you start more than one Eterm session from the same short cut or from multiple
shortcuts to different Eterm executables.
As a result of messaging being disabled in subsequent Eterm sessions, Eclipse add-on products
that use the Eterm messaging function will produce undesirable results in subsequent Eterm
sessions. For example, Eclipse Imaging will not input/scan or output/display images, and Eclipse
Egraph will not display graphs.
Modem Connect String Does Not Process Correctly
Eterm assembles the connect string based on specific conditions for modem commands and
telephone numbers. From the Configure menu, select Dialing to display the Dialing
Configuration dialog box. Check the values of the following fields: Access, Dialing Method,
Dial String, Exchanges are Local, Exchanges are Toll, Local Area Codes, Long Distance
Access, Local Exchanges, Set Home, and Use Credit Card.
See the Eterm online help system for details on this feature.
Print Jobs Begin at Top of Page
When using 16-bit Eterm, print jobs begin at the top of the page boundary when using a
Windows printer under the Transparent Printing option group. From the Configure menu,
select Printing to display the Configure Printing dialog box. Select the LPT1, LPT2 or LPT3
line printer ports to print where the last print job ended.
When using 32-bit Eterm, these options are inactive.
Print Jobs Begin Where Last Print Job Ended
When using 16-bit Eterm, print jobs begin where the last print job ended when using the LPT1,
LPT2 or LPT3 line printer ports under the Transparent Printing option group. From the
Configure menu, select Printing to display the Configure Printing dialog box. Select a
Windows printer to print at the top of the page boundary.
When using 32-bit Eterm, these options are inactive.
Printer Problems
It is important that you install the correct version of Eterm, as required by your operating system
and your printing requirements. The installation program automatically installs a version of
Eterm specific to your operating system. For Windows 3.1.1, this is a 16-bit version; for
Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT, this is a 32-bit version. If you experience printer
problems, check that you are using the correct version of Eterm for your operating system, and
that your printer drivers support transparent printing.
