Check that you have selected the Network - Telnet network connection.
Check that the entry in the Host box is valid.
Check the integrity of all cable connections between your computer and the host
computer.
If you still encounter problems, please contact your System Administrator, or Intuit
Eclipse Support.
Configuring Eterm for Windows for a Serial Connection
The following procedures provide abbreviated information for configuring communications for
Eterm for Windows when connecting through one of the following:
TTY port.
Modem.
To configure Eterm to connect through a TTY port:
1. From the Configure menu, select Communications to display the Configure
Communications dialog box.
2. In the Communications port field, select the COM port that your PC uses to connect
with the host system.
3. In the Speed field, set the baud rate equal to that of the host. Intuit Eclipse recommends
entering 19200. Contact your system administrator for the appropriate setting to use.
4. For serial connections, leave the Connect string field blank.
5. Click OK.
When connecting to your host using a serial cable that attaches directly to a concentrator,
clicking the Connect menu takes you to the AIX login prompt. If not, try the following:
Check that the Connect menu is inactive. If not, click it again.
Check that you have selected the appropriate COM port.
Check that all cable connections are correct.
If you still encounter problems, contact your system administrator or Intuit Eclipse
Support.
To configure Eterm to connect through a modem:
1. From the Configure Communications dialog box, in the Communications Port field,
choose the COM port that your PC uses to dial out to the host
2. In the Speed field, set the baud rate equal to that of the host.
3. Check all boxes except Auto Dial.
