To program a MultiTech modem while dialing in to your RISC system:
1. Dial the number of the modem you want to reprogram.
If you do not connect—the modem does not answer and the call just rings—have the
power cycled on the remote modem (turn the modem off and then back on) before trying
again.
Note: MultiTech modems need to have the “TR” light on to answer a call.
2. Type %%%at as soon as you see CONNECTED on your screen.
Your screen should look something like the following example:
CONNECTED
%%%AT
1 – DATA MODE
2 – COMMAND MODE
>
3. At the command prompt (>), type 2 and press Enter.
The system displays a password prompt, as shown in the following example:
PASSWORD>
4. Enter MODEMSETUP (all uppercase) for the password.
The modem acknowledges the password by displaying OK; you can proceed to the next
step. If you type the incorrect password, the modem prompts you for the password again.
5. Enter AT&W1Z to restore the modem to factory default settings.
After the modem completes the command, it displays OK again; wait for this response
before proceeding.
6. Enter ATE1Q2&D2&C4&S0=1$SB19200&W. Wait for the OK to appear.
7. Enter ATL5L6L7 to ensure that the codes you typed above have been saved by the
modem.
8. Enter ATO to return to the modem menu shown above in step 2.
9. Enter 1 to exit the modem.
10. Enter +++ath to disconnect, and then re-dial the number to test the modem.
If the modem is not working, call Intuit Eclipse Support and ask for the Systems Group.
