Programming an Eclipse MultiTech Support Modem
You can program an Eclipse MultiTech support modem in one of the following two ways:
• While attached to your PC.
• While dialing in to your RISC.
To program a MultiTech modem while attached to your PC:
1. Physically connect the modem to your PC with a null modem cable.
2. From the Eterm menu bar, click Configure and select Communications to open the
Eterm Configure Communications dialog box.
Note: The Eterm for DOS Configure screen looks a little different, although the
fields function the same.
3. Change the values in the following fields:
• In the Communications Port select the COM port to which the modem is attached.
• In the Speed field, select 19200 as the baud rate of the COM port.
4. Click OK to save these changes.
5. From the Eterm menu bar, click Connect to open an Eterm session using the new
communication settings.
Note: For Eterm for DOS, select CONNECT from the main menu.
6. Type ATL5 and press the Enter key.
Your modem should respond by sending information to the screen, similar to the
following example:
atl5
B1 E1 M1 Q0 R0 V1 X0 &E1 &E4 &E6 &E8 &E10 &E13 &E15 $E0 %C0 #C1 &C1
$MB19200 $SB57600 $BA0 &W0
OK
7. Enter AT&W1Z. This restores the modem to factory default settings.
After the modem completes the command, it displays OK again; wait for this response
before proceeding.
8. Enter ATE1Q2&D2&C4&S0=1$SB19200$R1&W. Wait for the OK to appear.
9. Enter ATL5L6L7 to ensure the codes you typed above have been saved by the modem.
10. Close your Eterm session, disconnect the modem, and try dialing in to it to test the
modem.
Note: You might need to reconfigure Eterm again.
If the modem is not working, call Intuit Eclipse Support and ask for the Systems Group.
