Ethernet Configuration for Windows 3.11 PCs
Before starting the following procedure, have your original Windows 3.11 software on hand, and
any diskettes provided by the manufacturer of your NIC, as they might be required by your
computer during this setup.
Note: Windows 3.1 cannot run an Ethernet environment using TCP/IP protocol.
You must use Windows 3.11.
To configure your network interface card for Windows 3.11:
1. Install Eterm on your Windows 3.11 PC.
2. From the Program Manager window, open the Main program group and double-click the
File Manager icon to open the File Manager.
3. Run the TCP32B.EXE self-extraction utility as follows:
From the File menu, select Search to display the Search dialog box.
In the Search For field, enter TCP32B.EXE.
Confirm that C:\ displays in the Start From field and the Search All Subdirectories
option is checked.
Click OK.
File Manager searches all directories on the C: drive for the TCP32B.EXE file. When
you install Eterm, the installation program copies this file to C:\ProgramF\Intuit
Eclipse\Eterm.
When File Manager finds the program, it displays it in the Search Results window.
In the Search Results window, double-click the TCP32B.EXE file.
A self-extraction utility runs and copies all the files contained in TCP32B.EXE to
their appropriate locations. When the utility finishes, it returns you to the File
Manager window.
Close File Manager and return to the Main window.
