Chapter 3:

Disaster Preparedness

The system administrator is responsible for making system and database backups. This person is

also responsible for storing the backup tapes off site. In case of disaster, the system administrator

can use the backup tapes to recreate the entire operating system and database.

The system administrator is also responsible for maintaining the tape and tape drives on which

the backups are created.
