Chapter 10:
Online Glossaries
Eclipse Support notes a number of web pages that contain good online glossaries of computing,
internet, and networking terms. We hope you will find these URLs helpful in expanding your
understanding of frequently used technological acronyms, protocols, words, and phrases.
Some definitions in the following glossaries might provide cross-references to other terms and
definitions, online tutorials, links to other web pages, illustrations, and historical context and
editorial commentary.
You can also search the World Wide Web for other network glossaries.
Please note that as the World Wide Web is constantly changing, some of the URLs given below
may change, move to a new location, or become out-of-date.
Basic Glossaries
The following web pages usually provide an alphabetical list of terms and their definitions. The
most basic web pages require you to scroll through a long list of terms and definitions. Others
allow you to click on a letter of the alphabet to jump to that section.

alphabetical list to display the definition.
