Installing the VSI-WIN Client
The VSI-WIN Client installation software is provided on a CD-ROM. If you have some users
with network connectivity, but no CD-ROM drive, you can install VSI-WIN over the network.
You can also copy the installation files to diskettes and install VSI-WIN from the diskettes.
The following procedures explain how to install VSI-WIN from the following sources:
• CD-ROM
• Network
• Diskettes
To install VSI_WIN from a CD-ROM:
1. Close down all running programs.
2. Insert the VSI-FAX CD-ROM.
3. Bring up Windows Explorer (right-click on Start, then select Explore).
4. Start vsigold.exe, as follows:
• In Explorer left pane, locate and expand the CD Drive (click the +) to show the
subfolders.
• Expand the Windows subfolder (click the +).
• Click to open the English subfolder.
• In the right pane, double-click vsigold.exe.
5. Click Next to advance past the Welcome screen, and then choose the type of installation
you want:
• VSI-WIN – Installs the VSI-WIN program. This is the only program that is required.
• Complete – Installs the VSI-WIN program and the VSI-COVER program which you
can use to create custom cover sheets for the VSI-WIN client.
6. Click Next to accept the default installation directory, unless you really need to install it
somewhere else.
7. Continue the installation by filling in the input fields. Press Tab to move between the
input fields. Some notes on the input fields:
• Resolution – We recommend using Fine resolution.
• Hostname – Enter the IP Address of the Eclipse server where the VSI-FAX server is
installed.
• Login Name – Login Name can be the same as your Eclipse login name. If you use a
different login name, be certain to commit it to memory!
