Chapter 9:
VSI-FAX Gold
Use the VSI-FAX Gold software to connect to modems and transmit documents and messages as
faxes. VSI-FAX Gold is a Unix-based fax server which interfaces directly to the Eclipse menu
and to networked Windows PCs set up as clients. It is security driven by branch, by user, and by
document. You can append documents, such as credit applications, to the cover sheet and create
company logos on the cover sheet. Whether you can fax forms, such as invoices, purchase
orders, and statements, depends on your form print programs.
Four major components comprise the Eclipse Fax System:
• Assigning Fax Devices – Before you can send faxes from the Eclipse system, you must
assign one or more fax delivery systems, which we call fax devices.
• Fax Memo – Use the Fax Memo program to send faxes. Use this program to set up the
fax cover sheet, identify the fax recipients, and append documents to the fax.
• Outgoing Fax Status Queue – Use the Outgoing Fax Status Queue to manage faxes sent
from your company. Use this functionality to make sure that all faxes are sent. You can
also watch for instances where a fax is not sent due to wrong numbers, busy phone lines,
or any other problems which arise while sending faxes.
• Incoming Fax Status Queue – Use the Incoming Fax Status Queue to manage images
that have been faxed into the Eclipse Fax System. Use these images to create logos,
signatures, append documents, and forms.
