REMOTE POWER FUNCTIONS
Power OFF Function
If you wish to turn the power off to a network appliance that is connected to power outlet A1 or B1, from the Main Menu, type: A1<CR> or B1<CR>
A New Menu will appear:
Power - Status(S), On(N), Off(F), Reboot(R), Exit(X,<CR>) :Type: F<CR> A New question will appear:
How Long 1 - 168 hours :
Choose how many hours you would like the network appliance to be off. (1 to168 Hours).
Example, if you want the network appliance to be turned off for 24 Hours type: 24<CR>
Power On Function
If you wish to turn the power back on to a network appliance, from the Main Menu, type: A1<CR> or B1<CR>
A New Menu will appear:
Power - Status(S), On(N), Off(F), Reboot(R), Exit(X,<CR>) :Type: N<CR>
This will turn on the P1 Outlet and return you to the Main menu.
Power Reboot Function
If you wish to invoke a power reboot function of network appliance that is connected to power outlets A1 or B1
from the Main Menu, type: A1<CR> or B1<CR>
A New Menu will appear:
Power - Status(S), On(N), Off(F), Reboot(R), Exit(X,<CR>) :Type: R<CR> A New question will appear:
Reboot (y/n)? Type: Y<CR>
You will now see a count down from 10 to 1 while the P1 Outlet is Off. Power is restored after 10 seconds and will take you back to the Main Menu.
Rommon Reboot Function (For Cisco Network Appliances)
If you wish to invoke a Rommon reboot function of a Cisco network appliance that is connected to power outlets A1 or B1 (Or both),
1) Follow the steps Power Reboot function (above)
2) When you are taken back to the Main Menu, type:
F<CR> for FastFix Setup Options, then choose (B) – Send Break
3) You will be asked, which port.
4) Choose the Console Port (1 to 6) that the Cisco Network Appliance console port is connected to, you will then be returned to the Main Menu.
If you now choose that console port, you should see that the Cisco Network Appliance is in Rommon Mode.
Please note: You have approximately 60 seconds from the Power being re applied to send the break to the console port
GROUP REBOOT Function
If you wish to reboot both A1 and B1 Outlets at the same time
At The Main menu type: G<CR>
You will then be prompted with:
Enter Ports to Reboot from A1 B1 A (All) (<CR> alone to end):
Type: A<CR>
This will then invoke a Power Reboot on both Outlets A1 & B1 and you will then be returned to the Main Menu.
