2. Coolant
Drain and clean engine cooling system. Replace coolant with new coolant that
meets manufacturers specifications – replace engine cooling system
thermostats.
3. Hoses and Connections
Replacement of all cooling system hoses. Inspection of engine cooling system
piping for corrosion or fowling while hoses are being replaced. Confirm tightness
of connections.
4. Jacket Water Heater
Replacement of jacket water heater hoses and fittings.
5. Fuel Injectors
Inspect.
6. Starting Motor
Inspect the engine electric starting motor.
7. Batteries
Replace all lead acid batteries.
8. Fan Belts
Replace all.
9. Alternator Belts
Replace all.
The Contractor shall remove and dispose of used oil, coolant, and any other used
liquids that result from service and ensure area is returned to its original condition at
the time service began.

LOAD BANK TESTING
The Contractor shall perform operation test to simulate utility power loss during the
institution’s peak demand. The load test of the generator set shall include complete
cold starts. The Contractor shall record generator set performance including power
transfer, time, voltage, current, frequency, power factor, water temperature, oil
pressure and ambient air temperature.
The Contractor shall perform one (1) resistive load bank test annually on each unit
(individually) at the beginning of each year during the contract term. The Contractor
shall contact Contract Liaison or designee to schedule this test each year.
Load Bank Test shall be performed annually and be conducted as follows:
a. Test Generator set with load banks for a minimum of five (5) hours;
b. Record date and note engine operating condition at:
One hour, 25 percent
