7. GENERATOR AC POWER UNIT
a) Visual Inspection
Visual inspection for overall condition of foreign objects, loose or broken
fittings, guards, and components.
b) Generator End Bearing
Lubricate the generator end bearing.
8. GENERATOR MECHANICAL
a) Slip Rings and Bushings
Removal, inspection, and cleaning of slip rings and bushings.
b) Space Heaters
Inspect for proper operation.
Check AC power and control wiring for space heater.
c) Generator
Inspect generator windings for foreign material, dirt, and winding
movement.
d) Vibration Isolators
Check for proper adjustment and hardware condition.
e) Bearings
Inspection of bearings for grease leakage and external discoloration.
f) Exciter
Check exciter clearance.
g) Generator Exciter Assembly
Retorque rectifier connections.
Record torque settings.
h) Conductors
Inspect AC and DC conductors for insulation damage within the generator
enclosure.
i) Generator Fan
Inspect fan hardware.
j) Generator Components
Visually inspect stator assembly.
Visually inspect rotating field assembly.
Visually inspect exciter assembly.
