DA7000 SERIES A.C. GENERATORS — OPERATION AND PARTS MANUAL — REV. #4 (08/07/09) — PAGE 23
General Inspection Prior to Operation
The DA7000 series generators have been thoroughly
inspected and accepted prior to shipment from the factory.
However, be sure to check for damaged parts or components,
or loose nuts and bolts, which could have occurred in transit.
Ground Power Tools
When using power tools or electrical equipment requiring
AC power from the generator, make sure connecting (power
tool) cable has a ground as shown in Figure 7.
Extension Cable
When electric power is to be provided to various tools or
loads at some distance from the generator, extension cords
are normally used. Cables should be sized to allow for
distance in length and amperage so that the voltage drop
between the generators and point of use (load) is held to a
minimum. Use the cable selection chart (Table 4) as a guide
for selecting proper cable size.
Main Circuit Breaker
To protect the generator from an overload always place the
main and auxiliary circuit breakers in the "OFF" position
prior to starting the engine.
GFCI Receptacle
Before connecting a load to the generator's GFCI receptacle,
push
the "Test Button" on the front of receptacle before
connecting the load, to confirm that the receptacle is
functioning correctly.
