16.1.4. Setting up free mixers
For fixed-wing model aircraft!
“Free mixers” are all those mixers which are defined in
the menu
Setup, Mixer def. (Î 14.2.). The mixers
(maximum fourteen) defined at that point are set up in
the Menu G
Mixer according to the requirements of
the particular model.
! Notes:
The mixers defined in the menu
Setup, Mixer def.
can only be used in fixed-wing model aircraft, i.e. not
in model helicopters.
In the interests of clarity, the menu G
Mixer only lists
those mixers which are used in the currently selected
model, i.e. which have been assigned in the menu K
Servo, Assignment (Î 17.2.):
The mixers
Combi-Sw., Ail.Diff. and Controls
Mix
are always included in the list.
The next section explains the method of setting up a
“free mixer” using the example of the mixer
AILERON+,
which is pre-defined as standard, and is used in several
model templates:
Mode of working of the input “Dynamic” heading
of the marked input
Mixer inputs Values Mixer switch
Allocation indicator status
This example shows the method of setting the mixer
AILERON+ (Æ the various aileron travels), as they might
be set up for a model glider with a four-flap wing.
What does the menu show?
The third line of this menu is a “dynamic” heading for
the parameter(s) of the marked mixer input. The in-
formation actually displayed at this point varies ac-
cording to the selected mixer input:
x On the left the screen shows the symbol for the
method of working of the mixer input (Î 14.2.2.).
x The percentages indicate the significance of the
values. The possibilities are as follows:
---- No setting
trv' Travel setting for asymmetrical inputs
trv# Travel setting for asymmetrical inputs
trv Travel setting for symmetrical inputs
offs Offset
dead. Deadband
pt
1 Curve point for control centre position
pt2 Curve point for control end-points.
The bottom five lines display the following data:
x The transmitter control which generates the mixer
input
x % values of the mixer inputs:
Range:
-100% OFF 100%
x Status of the mixer inputs:
* Mixer input active
- Mixer input not active.
In the case of switched inputs:
G* Switch G, input switched on
G- Switch G, input switched off.
The Allocation indicator shows that the % values of
the mixer input can be allocated to one of the 3-D digi-
adjusters and - once unlocked - altered in flight (Î 20.1.).
The defintions of the pre-defined mixers can be found
in the Section (Î 22.2.).
