10.2. Switching on “normally”
10.2.1. RF module excl. Scanner installed
If the transmitter is fitted with an RF module without
the optional Scanner, one of three possible sequen-
ces will occur when you switch on; they are described
below:
Pre-condition: The RF Check parameter is set to ON
in the menu Setup, Transmitter.
a.) RF module switched on for
the first time: no RF channel
has been set.
Switch on with the L button
pressed in, and select an RF
channel (Î b.).
b.) Use the 3-D digi-adjuster to
select an RF channel, then
switch the transmitter
OFF - ON or
press any menu button or
ENTER to activate operation
without RF transmission.
c.) Activate RF transmission by
pressing any menu button or
ENTER.
! If Check RF is OFF:
If you have set the RF check to OFF in the menu
Setup, Transmitter (not recommended), the se-
lected channel confirmation described under b.) does
not occur before an RF signal is broadcast.
10.2.2. RF module installed, Scanner installed
If your transmitter is fitted with an RF module with
the
optional Scanner, the following two possibilities arise.
Pre-condition: the parameter Check RF is set to ON
in the menu Setup, Transmitter.
a.) The selected channel was
already in use when the trans-
mitter was switched on.
An RF signal is not broadcast.
Start the Scanner by pressing
any menu button or ENTER.
b.) The RF channel is already
set, and is free for use.
Activate RF transmission by
pressing any menu button or
ENTER.
! If Check RF is OFF:
If you have set the RF check to OFF in the menu
Setup, Transmitter (not recommended), the se-
lected channel confirmation described under b.) does
not occur before an RF signal is broadcast.
10.3. Switching on when no RF module
is installed
If the transmitter is switched on with no RF module
fitted, these two screen displays appear in turn:
Fig. 10.3.1.: Transmitter type, Fig. 10.3.2: No RF modul
Firmware version, languages installed
The message No RF remains on the screen for about
one second.
After this the program continues with the throttle
check (Î 10.4.), or moves on directly to the last used
Status display (Î 10.6.).
10.4. Switching the transmitter on
with throttle-check active
Throttle-check is a safety function. If you are about to
fly a powered model, the throttle check (throttle lock)
prevents an electric motor bursting into life unexpec-
tedly if you switch the system on when the throttle
channel is not at idle
.
You will find the parameter Check Thr. in the menu:

Check Thr. ON_
Check RF ON
The factory default setting is ON. The conditions for
throttle-check are different for fixed-wing model aircraft
and helicopters; for this reason they are described
separately in the next two sections.
10.4.1.
Throttle-check for fixed-wing models
This warning appears if:
x Throttle-Check (Check Thr.) is set to ON (see above)
and
x the throttle control is not
in the idle position (or at
the motor OFF position)
and
x the Throttle CUT switch has not
been operated.
